If you’re looking to attend rehab here at Gladstones Clinic, we recommend that you reach out to your insurance carrier directly to gain an understanding of your insurance benefits and coverage options.

However, if you have any questions regarding insurance and your rehab options with Gladstones Clinic, we are more than happy to help. Contact us on 0808 258 2350 to get started.

Are You Insured? Here’s How to Get Started With Gladstones Clinic

If you’re looking to get started with Gladstones Clinic and you have medical insurance, here are five simple steps to take before getting started.

1 – Contact Us

Begin the process by Contact our admissions line at 0808 258 2350. Alternatively, you can use our contact form to contact us or request a callback. In this initial conversation, we will discuss your specific needs and the reason behind your choice to attend rehab.

2 – Undergo an Assessment

When you’ve reached out to us, you will undergo an initial assessment with one of our admissions team. This will usually take place over the phone. After an initial assessment, you will then undergo a more detailed assessment with a registered nurse, going into more depth about your addiction history, medical history, and recovery goals.

3 – Contact Your Insurance Provider

After speaking with our team and learning more about our rehab treatment at Gladstones Clinic, it’s time to contact your insurance provider. Discuss your coverage for addiction and mental health treatment, and determine what exactly will be covered by your instance provider. At Gladstones Clinic, we work with an extensive list of major private healthcare providers.

4 – Provide Relevant Medical Information

When you’ve determined your insurance coverage, it’s time to let us know your medical history. Request a medical summary from your GP – and we sometimes request full bloodwork beforehand. However, we can take blood samples on-site if needed.

5 – Prepare for Admission

Finally, when all the relevant assessments are complete and we have verified your insurance coverage, we will determine dates and times for treatment. We will also discuss payment options – and then prepare for admission! Admission usually occurs within around 48 hours of initial contact.

Insurance for Rehab FAQs

How Much Does Drug and Alcohol Rehab Cost?

Rehab costs can vary depending on the level of support and luxury you want or need. Typically, inpatient rehab costs anything from £1,500 to £2,000 per week –  and a standard 28-day programme can cost anything from £6,000 all the way up to £20,000. Outpatient rehab, however, is generally more affordable, costing anything from £5,000 for three months of treatment.

In short, no – you do not need insurance to pay for rehab. However, it certainly can help to reduce the overall cost of treatment. You can self-fund out of pocket if you can afford to do so, or potentially take out a loan if you are not covered through insurance. Some employers may offer health insurance plans that can cover substance abuse treatment – so be sure to check with your employer or HR department if you’re unsure.

Although you can get substance treatment on the NHS, there are several drawbacks. Firstly, there are long waiting lists for treatment on the NHS so you may be waiting weeks for treatment. Secondly, options are limited. The NHS does not have its own residential rehab facilities, and referrals to private rehab can be very difficult to obtain.

The UK Government has recently allocated £421 million to improving drug and alcohol addiction treatment in England – but for now, it can be tough to get the treatment you need on the NHS.
