Some of our many services include:

Private Residential Detox and Rehab

Gladstones Clinic offers a wide range of rehab, counselling, and treatment programmes for substance abuse, mental health disorders, and eating disorders. With both day care and residential treatment clinics within a short drive of Stroud, we help people achieve and maintain sobriety without the hassle of hours of travel.

For many, residential treatment programmes offer the best chance at successful rehab and primary care, especially when there have been failed attempts at sobriety. Detox and withdrawal are notoriously difficult periods to deal with, and going through these uncomfortable processes under medical supervision and with access to intensive psychiatric treatment can significantly boost your chances of successfully transitioning into primary care.

Our residential clinic, located in the Cotswolds, can accommodate up to a maximum of 12 patients at a time, ensuring a small-group feel that is conducive to recovery while avoiding constantly changing new faces. Our patient rooms are all fully private and feature en-suite bathrooms, while the rest of the clinic is tastefully decorated, light, airy, and well-appointed. This includes all communal spaces, living rooms, therapy rooms, and outdoor spaces.

If you’re looking for effective and comfortable rehab services near Stroud, look no further than Gladstones Clinic. Our long-term success rate and scores of happy clients who have achieved long-term sobriety and stability speak for themselves.

Gladstones Clinic: Helping Stroud beat addiction and mental health disorder

Substance abuse, mental health disorders, and eating disorders are complex in nature. This means that diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare all need to be integrated into a coherent and personalised treatment plan for maximum efficiency. Alongside our proven treatment programmes, we provide additional specialised services that help get people into treatment, support and educate families, and cast the widest possible safety net in terms of post-residential treatment and support.

Intervention Services

In the world of substance abuse and mental health disorders, the sad reality is that many individuals who need professional help will never actively seek it out. Fear of judgement, change, or stigma are powerful forces against seeking help and cause many to downplay the effects that their habits have on themselves and their loved ones. Our trained and experienced intervention team helps friends, families, and colleagues organise effective and impactful interventions that avoid all the common pitfalls of what is usually a stressful situation.

Family Therapy

Substance abuse can seriously harm the healthy and loving interpersonal relationships that should exist in the family. Repeatedly broken promises and other disappointments erode trust, and constantly worrying about a loved one’s wellbeing doesn’t do a family any favours. Our team has seen over and over again what an impact involving the family in therapy can have on both the client and the family at large. We help address and heal past hurts, educate families on how to become part of the recovery process, and assist families in creating healing environments at home.

Aftercare

There is no doubt that continued access to rehab and support are key elements in achieving and maintaining long-term sobriety. Although a four-week residential programme is often the catalyst for change, for many, it’s the lifelong access to our relapse prevention services and the Gladstones community that keeps them building on their progress. We also offer secondary and tertiary treatment programmes, including access to dry housing and skills-building opportunities, for ongoing post-residential support.

Our Treatment Philosophy

At Gladstones Clinic, we believe that addiction, mental health disorders, and eating disorders require an integrated and holistic approach to therapy. You cannot simply cure these conditions with medicine, and one-size-fits-all approaches to psychiatric counselling do little more than provide temporary relief at best. Treating these conditions requires a detailed understanding of the individual, their journey to addiction and disorder, and the ability to identify and address the root causes of the problem.

We rely heavily on both conventional and evidence-backed treatment modalities used in rehab clinics around the world, as well as proven alternative therapies that promote holistic health, or ‘whole-person well-being’. Although each patient can expect a tailored treatment schedule based on their unique set of needs, the vast majority benefit from a combination of Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapies (CBT and DBT therapy), group therapies, and more.

To complement the counselling and group therapies, which help patients understand their addictions and disorders and assist them in devising unique strategies for dealing with stressors, we use a range of proven alternative therapies. These include yoga, guided meditation, acupuncture, and other therapies that promote peace, calm, and introspection. For many, these calming exercises become a mainstay of everyday life moving forward.

Our philosophy towards substance abuse and other disorder treatments guides our approach, and it has helped us to help others achieve lasting sobriety, clarity, and a newfound quality of life for 20 years.

Our Rooms and Facilities

⁤Getting through detox and withdrawal and achieving long-term sobriety is a significan challenge that involves numerous factors and goes beyond just an understanding of addiction and medically proven treatments. ⁤⁤The environment where detox and primary care take place plays a critical role in the recovery process and can heavily influence the likelihood of an early relapse. ⁤⁤At Gladstones, you can rest assured that your detox space will be as comfortable and relaxing as possible, setting the scene for a smooth transition into primary care. ⁤

⁤Our residential facility in the Cotswolds features 12 fully private bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. ⁤⁤These rooms are bright, spacious, and comfortably furnished, ensuring a restful and conducive environment for recovery. ⁤⁤Our common areas are warm and inviting, providing the perfect spaces for community interaction. ⁤⁤In the evenings, patients often gather in the living room, dining area, or our beautifully maintained gardens to unwind and bond. ⁤

⁤Unfortunately, we cannot allow patients to leave the clinic during detox or early primary care. ⁤⁤However, as patients progress and stabilise, we organise supervised visits to nearby parks and gardens, giving everyone the chance to get outside and strech their legs. ⁤

⁤Nutrition is another vital component of successful rehabilitation. ⁤⁤At Gladstones, our experienced in-house chefs prepare three nutritionally balanced and delicious meals daily. ⁤⁤Additionally, snacks, fruit, and other refreshments are available throughout the day. ⁤⁤Our chefs, who have extensive experience catering to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, are well-equipped to accommodate any dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring that each patient’s nutritional needs are met.
